Description

The Makita® GV5000 Sander is a top - choice tool for marble polishing. But its original backer pad needed messy glues. That's why we present the Alpha® GV Backer Pad. It's the first hook - and - loop backer pad for the GV5000, perfectly fitting its unique spindle and attachment. Ideal for bullnosed edges and flat surfaces, it offers just the right flexibility for curved areas and enough rigidity for flat ones. Marble fabricators and tile contractors can use Alpha® Sandpaper and Alpha® Felt Wheels on their GV5000 with great results. This backer pad accepts various hook - and - loop backed products, making it a super versatile tool for stone, tile, metal, wood, and glass. Key features include: high - quality, rigid yet flexible, hook - and - loop backed, suitable for multiple surfaces, popular among professionals, and a perfect fit for the Makita® GV5000 Sander. Available in two sizes: GV4MPPD (4') and GV5MPPD (5'), both with a maximum RPM of 4,500 and an M8 - 1.25 male connection.

Using the Alpha® GV Backer Pad on your Makita GV5000 Sander is easy. First, make sure your sander is turned off and unplugged. Then, attach the backer pad to the sander according to the tool's unique spindle and attachment configuration. You can then attach your preferred hook - and - loop backed products like polishing pads, sandpaper, or felt wheels. When using it on different materials such as stone, tile, metal, wood, or glass, start with a lower speed and gradually increase as needed. For bullnosed edges, use a light touch and follow the curve carefully. For flat surfaces, move the sander in a smooth, even motion. As for maintenance, after each use, clean the backer pad with a soft brush to remove any debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust or damage. Also, regularly check the hook - and - loop surface for wear and tear. If it starts to lose its grip, it might be time to replace the backer pad.
