Metacaulk Fire Rated Mortar is an economical solution for firestopping large openings in fire-rated walls and floors. It's a rapid-hardening gypsum/cement compound that combines workability, strength, and excellent fire resistance. When mixed with clean water, it forms a rigid, gas-tight, and fire-resistant seal. Ideal for use with power cables and fiber optic telephone cables.

Using Metacaulk Fire Rated Mortar is straightforward. First, get clean water and mix it with the mortar to achieve a suitable consistency. You can make it pourable or trowelable according to your needs. Then, apply it to the large openings in fire - rated walls and floors where you want to firestop, especially when dealing with power cables or fiber optic telephone cables. This process doesn't require any special tools.
When using, keep in mind that this product is not suitable for areas that are constantly wet or areas that experience vibration or movement. Also, it's important to note that the mortar is workable for about 45 minutes. If you need to cut, drill, or reseal it in the future, it can be easily done.
To maintain the quality of the product, store it properly. The shelf life is 2 years. And since it's protected against mold growth in both wet and dry stages, you don't have to worry too much about mold as long as it's stored under normal conditions.
