The MEGA HIPPO® Comes with Two 9' Dia. Mixing Paddles:
The 9' wide helix and side bars quickly and efficiently lift and shear the product for an excellent mix consistency and thorough mixing of colors and additives. The paddle's large 9' diameter increases peripheral speed, eliminating the need for high-RPM mixing and preventing flash curing.
Order No. TW225 – for half batches (2-3 bags); 9' dia. x 27' long. Ideal for plasters, concrete, mortars, resins and tile adhesives. 8' long helix and side bars.
Order No. TW225D – for full batches (4-6 bags); 9' dia. x 27' long. Suitable for self-leveling compounds, screeds, paints, plasters and epoxy. 15' long helix and side bars.
Using the PortaMix® MEGA HIPPO Mixing Stations is easy. First, choose the right paddle for your batch size - TW225 for half batches (2 - 3 bags) and TW225D for full batches (4 - 6 bags). Place the paddle in the mixing motor (PH 2516 R) and put the removable liner (PH705) in the bucket. Then add your materials. You can mix a variety of compounds like self - leveling over/underlayments, engineered concrete, etc. Set the 3 - speed motor to the appropriate speed (175, 300, or 430 RPM) according to the material. If you're using heavier aggregate or thicker flowable material, use less material for better performance. When done, you can easily remove the liner to clean it, which helps prevent cross - contamination. If you have a Pelican Transport Cart, using it with this mixing station can significantly reduce labor costs and increase output. For maintenance, keep the motor clean and check the paddles regularly for wear and tear. Make sure to store the equipment in a dry place. Also, note that 220 Volt and Air - Powered models are available if needed.
