Using the Blue Diamond® Tree Shear is quite straightforward. First, make sure your machine is properly powered and in good working condition. When approaching a tree, position the shear around the trunk or limb you want to cut. The shear can handle trees up to 12 inches in diameter, so don't try to cut larger ones. To cut limbs or felled trees at a different angle, simply pull the pin to rotate the shear 90 degrees. As for maintenance, regularly check the 5 - inch by 12 - inch cylinder for any signs of leakage or damage. Keep the 1 - inch thick T1 steel cutting edge sharp by grinding it when it gets dull. Also, make sure to clean the shear after each use to prevent debris build - up, which can affect its performance. And always refer to the BDA TREE SHEAR MANUAL and TREE SHEAR SPEC SHEET for more detailed information.
