Our HELLCAT™ Series planer, powered by the robust Honda GX270 4 - stroke engine, offers greater power and higher productivity. Similar to our previous 5.5 HP planer, it's built to last with a heavy - duty drive shaft and a welded, unitized frame. It features extra - capacity, externally greased drive shaft bearings, a Quik - Pitch™ drum engagement lever, a Back - Saver™ on - the - fly screw - type fine cutting depth control, and a 3 - inch diameter dust collection attachment port with a cover. The Pow - R - Pivot™ center point balancing makes it easy to maneuver and reduces operator fatigue. The forward - mounted drum ensures contour - following precision. Using this HELLCAT™ Series surface planer is easy. First, make sure you have the right fuel - use unleaded automotive gasoline for the Honda GX270 engine. Start the engine with the hand - rewind starter. You can adjust the cutting depth using the screw - type Back - Saver™ mechanism. To engage the drum, use the Quik - Pitch™ lever. The forward - mounted drum helps you follow contours accurately. When it comes to dust control, connect a dust collection device to the 3 - inch dust port. Remember, the drum and flail kit are not included, so order them separately. As for maintenance, regularly grease the externally greased drive shaft bearings. Keep the unit clean and store it in a dry place. Also, check the engine regularly according to the Honda GX270 engine's maintenance guidelines.
