Using the Makita 18V LXT® Cordless Portable Band Saw is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately). Insert the battery into the saw. Then, adjust the variable speed control dial according to the type of metal you're cutting. You can choose a speed between 275 - 530 ft./min. Place the material on the adjustable foot for support and protection. When you're ready, press the trigger switch (remember, it has a lock-off feature, so you need to perform two actions to power on the saw). The built-in L.E.D. light will illuminate the work area for better visibility.
When it comes to maintenance, always use genuine Makita batteries and chargers. The Rapid Optimum Charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip during charging to optimize battery life. It also has a built-in fan to cool the battery. If you need to adjust the stopper plate, use the on-board wrench storage.
